Electric Vehicle Deployment in 2023-24 Is Focus of Sept. 13 New England-Canada Business Council Webinar

Speakers include top EV leaders from Maine, New Hampshire, Québec, and Vermont, also lessons for U.S. from Canada’s national EV strategy

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#electriccar–The New England-Canada Business Council, one of the leading organizations promoting cross-border business, trade, and cultural connections, is hosting a major webinar event on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at noon focusing on accelerating the deployment of electric vehicle technology in the U.S. and Canada, including mass transit and maritime transportation.

Sponsored by the Québec Government Office in Boston and the Consulate General of Canada to the United States in Boston, with premier support from Clean Energy New Hampshire, E2Tech, and the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC), the two-hour webinar will include panel discussions and presentations on:

• Vermont’s strategy and model for electrifying mass transportation
• Lessons learned from New Hampshire and Québec on implementing EV infrastructure
• Maine’s approach to electrification of maritime and tourism transportation and successes to date
• And a joint keynote address on Canada’s national EV strategy by Dina Santos, Acting Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner at Canada’s Consulate in Boston, and Anna van der Kamp, Executive Director, Clean Fuels Branch, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).

NECBC Vice President Timothy T. Egan, CEO of Sugar Hill Associates and professor at Vermont State University, is chairing the webinar organizing committee.

With more than 130,000 fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the road today, Québec ranks second, after California, as the North American jurisdiction with the most EVs deployed. Québec’s Delegate in Boston, Marie-Claude Francoeur, will lead off the conference with opening remarks on Québec’s extraordinary success in promoting and deploying EVs and the infrastructure needed to support them.
