If you’re new to the automotive hobby, rediscovering your inner car guy or car gal after a long hiatus, or a lifelong gearhead who understands the reality that there is always more to learn, Enthusiast 101, a new automotive reference section of AutoNewsblaster, was designed for you

As you engage with fellow automotive enthusiasts and consume automotive media, you’re likely to run across terms and concepts that are not familiar to you. That’s understandable, because the automotive space is a broad field of interest, with an inexhaustible range of niches and nuances.

You could be an expert on ’60s American muscle cars yet know next to nothing about the wonders of the Japanese domestic market (JDM), for example. No matter how many years you’ve been afflicted with the automotive obsession, there is always something more to learn, for all of us.

So we created Enthusiast 101 as an automotive reference for just these situations. Articles in Enthusiast 101 will focus on the basics of the automotive domain. We’ll offer definitions and overviews from the full range of terms, concepts, categories, and more that automotive enthusiasts may encounter as they pursue their interests, no matter what nooks, crannies, and rabbit holes of the hobby that pursuit may lead them into.

So let’s learn together! Since we all have more to learn, you can consider this a “safe zone” where there is no question too elementary to ask. Our goal is to help you better understand the vast range of subject matter you’ll encounter as you pursue your interests and feel more confident that you know what you’re talking about as you share your automotive passion with others.

Accordingly, we encourage you to contact us any time with topics you would like us to address on Enthusiasts 101. Please send your ideas, questions, and feedback to auto.enthusiasts.news@gmail.com.
