For classic muscle motors like the small-block V8s from GM and Ford, top-end engine mods like upgrading carburetors, manifolds, cylinder heads, and gaskets can be an accessible way to gain some extra power without undertaking the rebuild of an entire engine.

But with the wide assortment of aftermarket components available for top-end engine mods, the effort to select an optimal combination of parts with confidence that they will fit properly and deliver the desired horsepower and performance can be daunting.

Questions and uncertainties, like whether a new carburetor will work with the stock manifold, can perplex even experienced wrenchers—not to mention the issue of ensuring that all of the right pieces needed to properly complete the project, like bolts and gaskets, will be available.

Longtime aftermarket performance parts manufacturer Edelbrock said yesterday that they are offering an enhanced set of solutions, with 84 Performance Package Top End Kits offering performance upgrades in cohesive parts bundles for GM, Ford, and Chrysler applications.

“Assembling an engine can be a lot like a puzzle, even to a veteran engine builder who’s tackling a new project,” said Don Barry, President and CEO of Edelbrock. “The Power Package program allows us to provide our customers with convenient off-the-shelf kits that our experts have compiled specifically for their applications.”

Edelbrock says they have selected each item in the Power Packages to ensure fitment, performance and reliability, providing everything needed for a complete top-end build including an intake manifold, cylinder heads, hydraulic cam and lifters, an Edelbrock gasket set and complete bolt kit.

For those seeking to upgrade their carburetors rather than undertaking a full top-end build, Edelbrock also offers Manifold and Carb kits that include gaskets, an intake bolt kit, carb stud kit and a chrome fuel inlet.

All of the kits are available in satin or a bright Endurshine finishes and are covered under a standard        one-year warranty from Edelbrock.

According to Edelbrock, the Power Package kits also offer an average cost savings of five percent compared to purchasing all of the components separately.
