There’s really not much news in Nissan’s 2019 370Z pricing announcement, but let’s just enjoy the cool car pictures anyway.

It’s hard not to feel sorry for PR guys and gals sometimes, when you see them in those awkward moments when they have to put together a press release in a situation when there really isn’t all that much to say.

Nissan’s pricing announcement for the 2019 370Z lineup was one of those situations, and in an odd way it brings Seinfeld to mind. In case you don’t remember, or aren’t old enough to remember, back in  the 90s Jerry Seinfeld’s sitcom gave TV viewers a long gaze in to the abyss of post-modernity with a self-referential story line about putting together “a show about nothing.”

It’s probably going a bit too far to say that the 2019 Nissan 370Z pricing announcement is a “press release about nothing,” but in all honesty there wasn’t much new to report—hence, the occurrence in the announcement of crutch words and phrases like “unchanged,” “continues to offer,” and “once again.”

Among the things that are unchanged for the Nissan 370Z lineup for 2019 are the starting prices for the entry-level 370Z Coupe and 370Z Roadster, as well as the high-performance 370Z NISMO, which remain at their 2018 levels—$29,990, $41,820 and $45,690, respectively. It’s always good news, to consumers, at least, when car prices don’t go up.

A few tidbits of newness are sprinkled in, however. Two new color themes are available for the 2019 370Z Coupe Heritage Edition: Deep Blue Pearl (black outside mirrors, gloss silver decals, yellow interior trim) and Pearl White (black outside mirrors, gloss black decals, yellow interior trim). Also new for 2019 in the Coupe is a standard auto-dimming rearview mirror with RearView Monitor. The previous Touring and Sport Tech trim levels have also been combined into a new Sport Touring grade.

But even though there wasn’t really anything earth-shattering to announce for 2019 after significant enhancements to the 370Z lineup for the previous model year, let’s just be glad that a family of sports cars this delicious exists today to provide much-needed relief from the overall look-alike doldrums that characterize so much of the automotive world today.

On a slow news day, that’s more than enough of a treat.
